A Canny alternative hosted in the EU, priced per workspace
Canny prices by tracked users, so the bill grows with everyone who leaves feedback, and it stores data in the United States. RondiLoop has one price per workspace, runs on EU servers and works through GitHub from the issue to the release notes. It’s younger, has no voting yet, and is in early access.
RondiLoop and Canny, side by side
| Topic | RondiLoop | Canny |
|---|---|---|
| What you pay for | One flat price per workspace, monthly or annual, with unlimited end users and feedback. Announced at launch. | Tracked users, meaning anyone associated with feedback. Free up to 25; Pro from $79 a month billed yearly ($99 monthly) for up to 100, rising with users: 1,000 cost $529 a month billed yearly. Business on request. |
| Where the data is | Servers in the EU. Mail through Brevo (France), error reports on our own servers. AI through Anthropic (USA), with personal data masked first; it can be switched off per project. | The United States, on MongoDB Atlas on AWS, with no EU hosting option. A DPA, and standard contractual clauses for its US subprocessors. |
| GitHub | A GitHub App. A roadmap item becomes an issue; a pull request moves the card to In progress, the merge to Shipped. Webhooks plus a nightly re-sync. | From Pro: pushes ideas to GitHub issues and links the two. Status syncs both ways for Canny Ideas when the issue is in a GitHub project. Pull requests aren’t documented. |
| Changelog | When you publish a GitHub release, AI drafts the release notes from its merged pull requests. You edit them and publish. | On every plan. Changelog emails go to the changelog’s subscribers, on Pro and Business. |
| Telling people it shipped | Publishing emails everyone who left an address with a request that shipped, quoting what they asked for. | Voters get an email when the status of a post they voted on changes; admins can leave it out. |
| Widget | One script tag, under 10 KB. No cookies, nothing loaded from third parties. | A JavaScript snippet loaded from sdk.canny.io, on every plan. Its size and cookies aren’t documented. |
| Voting and comments | Not yet. Similar requests are merged into one roadmap item, which shows how many people asked. | Yes, both. |
| Other integrations | None besides GitHub. No GitLab, Linear, Jira or Slack. | Jira, Linear, ClickUp, Asana, Azure DevOps, Salesforce, HubSpot, Zapier and more. |
| Self-hosting | No. Hosted only; whether it goes open source isn’t decided. | Not offered. |
What the table says about Canny is from Canny’s own pages on October 28, 2026, linked below. Prices and plans change, so check them before you decide. RondiLoop isn’t open yet; its price is announced at launch, one flat price per workspace.
Pick Canny if
- you want a well-known board with voting and comments, around since 2017,
- your team works in Jira, Linear, ClickUp or Azure DevOps, or you want feedback pulled in from Salesforce or HubSpot,
- you have fewer than 25 tracked users and the free plan is enough,
- you need SOC 2 or Okta SSO.
Pick RondiLoop if
- your feedback should stay on servers in the EU,
- the price shouldn’t grow with every person who leaves feedback,
- your team ships through GitHub and you want pull requests, merges and releases to move the roadmap and start the release notes,
- your users should see the widget and the public pages in German; Canny’s own interface is English-only.
Moving from Canny
RondiLoop can’t import from Canny yet. An importer for Canny is planned, like those for Featurebase, Fider and CSV, but it doesn’t exist today. Until it does, moving means starting the roadmap afresh and swapping the widget’s script tag.
