A Fider alternative that carries on into GitHub
Fider is an open-source board for ideas and votes. You can host it yourself or use its cloud, free or for $25 a month. RondiLoop is hosted only and has no voting yet. What it adds is what Fider’s website doesn’t mention: a widget in your app, GitHub issues, and a changelog drafted from your pull requests. It’s in early access.
RondiLoop and Fider, side by side
| Topic | RondiLoop | Fider |
|---|---|---|
| What you pay for | One flat price per workspace, monthly or annual, with unlimited end users and feedback. Announced at launch. | Free to host yourself. In its cloud: a free plan with a fair-use limit of 250 feedback requests, and Pro at $25 a month, billed monthly, with moderation and unlimited feedback. |
| Where the data is | Servers in the EU. Mail through Brevo (France), error reports on our own servers. AI through Anthropic (USA), with personal data masked first; it can be switched off per project. | Its cloud runs on Amazon Web Services; the region isn’t stated. A DPA with the EEA standard contractual clauses. Or your own server. |
| GitHub | A GitHub App. A roadmap item becomes an issue; a pull request moves the card to In progress, the merge to Shipped. Webhooks plus a nightly re-sync. | Its website and docs mention GitHub only as a way to sign in. |
| Changelog | When you publish a GitHub release, AI drafts the release notes from its merged pull requests. You edit them and publish. | Not mentioned on its website or in its docs. |
| Telling people it shipped | Publishing emails everyone who left an address with a request that shipped, quoting what they asked for. | Status changes are emailed to a post’s subscribers. Authors are subscribed; voters can subscribe. |
| Widget | One script tag, under 10 KB. No cookies, nothing loaded from third parties. | Not mentioned on its website or in its docs; people come to the board. |
| Voting and comments | Not yet. Similar requests are merged into one roadmap item, which shows how many people asked. | Yes, both. |
| Other integrations | None besides GitHub. No GitLab, Linear, Jira or Slack. | Webhooks for new posts, comments and status changes, aimed at Slack, Discord, Teams or Zapier, and a REST API. |
| Self-hosting | No. Hosted only; whether it goes open source isn’t decided. | Yes. Open source under AGPL-3.0; it needs Docker, PostgreSQL 12 or later and an email provider. |
What the table says about Fider is from Fider’s own pages on October 28, 2026, linked below. Prices and plans change, so check them before you decide. RondiLoop isn’t open yet; its price is announced at launch, one flat price per workspace.
Pick Fider if
- you want open source you can run on your own server,
- you want voting and comments, for free or $25 a month,
- your board should speak one of 22 languages,
- people should sign in with any OAuth2 provider.
Pick RondiLoop if
- you want a widget inside your app as well as a hosted page,
- roadmap items should become GitHub issues and follow their pull requests,
- you want a changelog drafted from the pull requests merged into a GitHub release,
- the people who asked should be emailed when the entry goes out, with their own request quoted.
Moving from Fider
RondiLoop can’t import from Fider yet. An importer for Fider is planned, like those for Canny, Featurebase and CSV, but it doesn’t exist today. Until it does, moving means starting the roadmap afresh and linking your users to RondiLoop’s widget or hosted page.
